Through our home birth it became obvious to myself and my husband what a blessing Kristy was to have present. She was calm, reassuring and confident in guiding me through early labour and during the long hours leading into birth.

Looking back I can see that without a doula there would have been a gap between the start of labour and the midwife entering the process. I am forever grateful we had her on our birth team.

We had the honour of having Kristy as part of our birth team when our first child was born.

It was a time of pure excitement, but obviously also of anxiety. Kristy helped prepare us with as much information as possible, with everything from the pregnancy, to the process of labour, the birth, and what to do once we brought our bundle home. She was as kind and gentle with us as she was with our newborn. 

We were able to spend time getting to know Kristy prior to the birth, so that when she arrived that night we already felt comfortable with her. This was so important during such a vulnerable time. And when our Birth Plan "A" changed, we knew that we had the best support team to help us through the challenges. Kristy didn't skip a beat and ensured we had everything we needed. She and the midwife worked seamlessly as a team.

During labour and birth, Kristy was where she was needed when she was needed, and otherwise would make herself helpful while giving us space. She ensured my husband was as involved as he wanted to be, and expertly recommended ways that he could support me, while ensuring that he was supported and comfortable too.

Kristy took photos during the birth, images that we cherish more each day as our little one grows so quickly!

Although it gets harder and harder to recall the specific details about that day, we will never forget the support we felt from Kristy and how important she was to our birth story. She truly made a world of difference during our pregnancy, birth and beyond.

If you are looking into hiring a Doula, Kelsey is exactly the right woman to talk to. 

Kelsey talked with me through most of my pregnancy and answered all my questions and concerns. She always made me feel comfortable.

She asked if I had a birth plan and I laughed nervously and said no! She helped me think about what was important to myself and my husband and helped us to make it happen.

Throughout my labour and delivery she made sure we knew what we could say no and yes too. Kelsey is very knowledgeable and has lots of experience. 

She was very engaged, involved, personal and available at all times. At the transition part of my labour I changed the plans and said I needed an epidural. She never judged me once and still made me feel good about my choices. However, baby was coming faster than we knew and I missed the window for the epidural and Kelsey was right there beside me holding my hand with love and encouragement. Keeping me calm and reminding me of the beautiful gift that was coming. I highly recommend Kelsey and would have her again in a heartbeat.
